Brigit’s Garden

One of the most picturesque gardens in Ireland, Brigit’s Garden in Rosscahill is the perfect place for an escape into Irish mythology and nature.

Windy Way Walk

With six routes along 48km, the Windy Way Walk is designed for adventure. Depending on the trail you choose, the scenic routes provide views of the Galway coast, the beautiful Uggool valley, the Aran Islands, Galway Bay and the Burren. This walk is diverse and accommodates every family's wants and needs - with wheelchair and buggy accessible trails, easier and shorter trails for first timers or families with younger children, and moderate/strenuous trails for a more challenging venture. 

Start or end the day with a trip into Oughterard, either for homemade breads, cakes and pastries at Sulllivan's or My Little Flower for some locally roasted coffee and sweet treats. 

Rathbaun Farm 

Located in Ardrahan, Rathbaun farm offers families an authentic and traditional Irish farm experience. The enchanting 250-year-old thatched cottage, turf fire and original stonewalls creates an unforgettable atmosphere, filled with stories and history. 

Children can listen to, watch and engage with the ongoing farm activities - from learning about sheep shearing and watching the talented sheep dog do his job, to hand-feeding newborn lambs. There are also opportunities to meet farm animals, such as the Connemara pony, Roisin Dubh.

For a light bite, round off your visit in the traditional farmhouse with freshly baked scones and a warm cuppa by the fire.
